RIVER COOTERS  (PSEUDEMYS CONCINNA )

River Cooters are hardy and easy to keep and feed, they are a good turtle for beginners.

They have a 'toothed' upper jawline which is very sharp, i hand feed my cooter and have been bitten on the odd occasion when his aim for food isn't as good as what you would prefer......Ouch!!!

Cooters are avid swimmers and spend a fair amount of time in the water but they do like to bask, they can be shy at times but after a period of time handfeeding, can become tame enough to let you hold the paw like mine does.
